With all the rain we have had in Northeast Georgia ,,,, and thankfully so, it is important to keep your mower blades sharpened. Wet grass is no problem unless your blades are dull. Also with the grass growing more, you need to cut more. So obviously the need to sharpen the blades more often is a result.

There are many roadside stops to get bales of pinestraw. But if you want a supplier who will be there year after year then head over to “The Straw Lot” in Jefferson. It is located across the railroad tracks neat “Real Deals”. They have big clean bales of pinestraw as well as hay and mulch. If you need it spread call us, but if you just need the straw, give Chris a call over at “The Straw Lot” 706-367-3862. Tell them “M&M Lawn Care” sent you.

It seems that the wet weather, which is a great blessing, has brought along some pests. Fire Ants are thriving here in Northeast Georgia. If you did not treat your entire lawn in the spring it is not too late. We can still get them under control for you so you can enjoy your yard without being terrorized by these small intruders!

Would I change lawn service providers to save a few dollars a month? No. If I were happy with my current guy I would not change to save a small amount. I give that advise to anyone who is considering us.  We are happy to take on new clients but we don’t use price as a gimmick. If we do a good job we hope our clients keep us for the quality of our work. So if you are pleased with your lawn service company, I say keep them on. If you’re not happy then call us. Our prices are very competitive though because we are very efficient.

Just a quick note on where to get some locally grown plants in Maysville, GA…. my town if you did not know. Pressleys farm supply right off of hwy 98 has a greenhouse full of flowers and vegetable plants. The owners are nice people to deal with as well.

Not to leave out the big dogs, I did find a good deal on some lillys at Wal Mart (2 for $10) which i though was a pretty good deal.

I love taking care of larger properties in our service area of Jackson County Georgia. The bigger the lawns, the less I have to drive! Usually there is less trimming to do as well. Some smaller lawn service companies don’t really like the bigger properties because they take too long but I enjoy them. When you have the right equipment (wider mowers) big properties are not a problem. The photo below shows one such lawn.

I love to see everyone’s grass looking a bright green this year in Northeast Georgia. The past two year’s dry weather made things a little “brownish” and dusty which is a bad deal for lawns. I’ll take wet grass any day over dusty yards.

The grass in Northeast Georgia has taken off with the warm weather and all the rain we have been blessed with. Weekly cutting is best so you don’t get behind. If you do get behind , just give us a call.
