I cannot say what a lawn in Oregon needs at this time of year but I do know what grass needs in Northeast Georgia right now. I do this to my personal property and many of the properties I take care of in my lawn care business.
There are many factors that determine how your lawn will perform. But the list above is a great baseline to follow.

If you currently have a house for sale and want to be ahead of the competition you need to look better than them. By competition, I mean everyone and their brother who is trying to sell their home in this tough market. Don’t wait until someone wants to see your house before you trim the hedges and put out fresh pine straw. Have it ready before you need to show it. A little money spent now with property care can pay off by getting your home sold faster than people who let their homes go downhill.

One problem with patches of your lawn not coming out as strong in the spring as it could is leaf remains. It will help your grass a ton if you can blow off your lawn now in north Georgia with temps likely to rise very soon. For bad areas use a rake to loosen up leaf & limb debris on the top of your lawn.
Just a note for anyone in North Georgia looking for a day of fun in the snow. Scaly Mountain is about 67 miles north of the Tanger Outlets in Commerce GA. They have man made snow when the real stuff is not there for the 2 giant hill slides. It is a good time and something different for area kids that don’t see snow that often.
The grass in my yard is showing signs of green life after a few days of warm weather. It is a bit early but by mid March mowers should be cranking up to make the first cut of the season. There is usually a few very cold days at the very end of March or first few days of April. So don’t put away those jackets too soon after a couple weeks of sunny weather.
The snow we got in Jackson County GA yesterday is some of the softest snow I have seen. It just laid perfectly on the trees and shrubs. I am no fan of snow but I do like to watch it fall and look at it from a warm house. 
Ok the weather gurus are calling for snow again her in north and central Georgia. I’ll believe it when I see it. They said 100% rain Tuesday from 6am to 3 pm.. and no rain was seen until about 1 pm!
On the news they are showing stranded passengers at the airport and if the snow hits they will have some unfortunate reporters at the bottom of the food chain standing out in the cold to “show us what snow looks like”. They could save the trouble and rerun the video from last time it snowed. It is the same scenario every time, not really “news”.
