Mowing Boring to You?
I actually enjoy mowing but many people hate it I realize. One thing that makes it more enjoyable is listening to music or talk shows while riding. With free podcasts (a podcast is an online radio show that can play on an mp3 player) I get to listen to a wealth of information while working. The key to enjoying music or other audio is to have hearing protection covering your ears and ear phones. Turning up the music so loud that it hurts your hearing long term is not worth it. Just get some ear muffs and you are set.

Ways to Save Up Georgia Rain
With all the extra rain we are getting in Northeast Georgia it is important to save up as much of it as we can. There are a few ways to gather the rain for the not so raining days that may come back in the form of a drought. Rain barrels at the bottom of down spouts is a common way to save water for plants. Also if you have a pool cover that holds water, then get a cheap pump to drain it off into some barrels for later use. The easiest way to gather water is 5 gallon buckets or 50 gallon drums at the base of a barn or out building with no gutters. It is amazing how much water runs off a roof.
Spreading Pine Straw is no fun :)
650 bales of pine straw is no fun task! Not so bad if it did not have to be loaded in a truck and moved around the property. That made it time consuming. But it makes a property look so much better!
Seattle / Georgia
I do not see how the humans in Seattle get anything done with it raining all the time 
As much rain as we have had in Georgia it has caused some delays in work but it rains almost daily in Seattle. Not that I am complaining. Extra rain is good…. GREAT compared to the drought that started in 2007.
The rain makes the leaves fall faster also. More fell today than in the last week.

Gutters are designed to carry water away from the foundation of the house. If they are clogged with leaves they cannot do that job. Keep them clear but cleaning them out as needed but be careful. Town Hall for Hope Northest GA
Just wanted to post a link to an event that is coming up at the end of this month. It is being put on by financial guru Dave Ramsey and is intended to offer some positive news and motivation in this negative economic time. Hopefully it will be available in our area but I have not seen it listed close yet.
Commerce Ga Home Depot Busy
For a rainy cold day in Commerce, GA the Home Depot was pretty busy. This is a good sign for the local economy. Home Depot should do well with so many people doing renovations instead of buying new homes. With all the bad news I like to post anything positive I can.
