When the grass growth slows down in November what do you need to do to your property? It is easy to think you can just sit back until Early spring of next year and do nothing. But that just puts you behind and leaves your property and the exterior of your home in a mess!
Below is a list of things I recommend for off season work on your property in Northeast Georgia. We offer most of these services if you need help. Contact us.
- Mulch up leaves… they hurt your lawn if too many of them just stay there.
- Keep gutters cleaned out.
- Put out rye grass which grows in cold weather. It helps keep lawn healthy while other grass types go dormant.
- Trim low hanging and unhealthy tree limbs.
- Trim hedges.
- Put out pinestraw after leaves have all fallen.
- Pressure wash house before putting up Christmas decorations.
- Aerate the lawn.
- De-thatch the lawn.
- Do a soil test to see what your lawn needs to be healthier.
- Sharpen lawn mower blades.
- Winterize mower gas.
- Treat your lawn to prevent fire ants in late Febuary or early March.
