Pressure Washing Video Northeast Georgia

Here’s a short clip of a driveway we pressure washed this week. The video is from a phone so it’s not great quality but you can see how clean driveway becomes. We serve the Northeast Georgia area.

Athens Clarke County Water Restrictions

I checked the water restrictions for Clarke County today and apparently there is no pressure washing allowed even by contractors unless it is in preparation for painting. I know there are many areas still in “drought” conditions, but our area which includes Athens, GA, has had good rains during the winter. So I pose the question, “will it ever be ok to pressure wash in Athens again”? To conserve water is good but to go overboard and take away the opportunity to clean a house exterior before it gets so dirty that some things won’t ever come off is ridiculous. Small businesses that rely on pressure washing as their main business service are really hurt by over the top restrictions. Fortunately that is not my main service but if it were I would just find something else to do as it is just too much trouble in some areas. Oconee County has a decent policy where they just require a one day permit. You can even have it faxed  to you to avoid a trip to the water dept. For anyone who thinks Clarke County is saving the water supply from disappearing by banning pressure washing needs to think how little water is used by this service overall. How many times per week did you notice even one house being washed before the ban? Not many more than now with the ban. It is just not a service in huge demand. But for businesses that provide the service, an unnecessary ban can really hurt.

Get Some Pinestraw on those beds

Time to spruce up those landscaping beds with some pinestraw. During the slow season you don’t have to worry about the heat or keeping the grass mowed so now is perfect timing for pinestraw. Also if you are trying to sell your home in the Jackson County area then it gives you a better chance if your property looks better than the others for sale. The same priciple holds true for pressure washing. If 90% of the houses for sale in your town have mildew and yours is clean that gives you an advantage in the real estate market.

Drought / Water Restrictions Oconee County GA

I’ll be posting more water restrictions relating to different areas of north Georgia periodically. This is an update from Monday of this week in Oconee County GA. This is mainly for pressure washing. There is still no pressure washing allowed by homeowners, however a company such as ours can be hired to do the work. A permit must be picked up by the company which is free from the Oconee County Water Dept. As a side note new landscaping can be watered for 30 days during certain hours but a similar permit is required.
